HelmutLeitner: Andrius, I have enormous difficulties in understanding the term "slack", probably because there is no clear translation to German (a kind of "looseness", a kind of "coal product"). It seems somehow related to the idea of entropy, which means that different realisations (choices) are possible in given physical constraints. So there seems a relationship to "freedom" and of course the explicit relationship to "good" that seems to depend on "choice" in my thinking.

Andrius: Helmut, the slack that I mean is the opposite of taut. A rope may be slack (loose) or it may be taut (tight). This looseness is strange to talk about. it is even strange to conceive, as it doesn't make sense statically. We need to conceive it dynamically, as either increasing or decreasing.

• Slack is good. Slack is the Structure of good. Good is the Spirit of slack.

• Slack is ZeroStructure. It is important in Factoring, SharedUnderstanding and the Operation [AddThree +3]. Slack is related to the fact that +3 takes us completely around the Threesome. It is also related to the fact that, in the sixsome, there are three shifts in perspectives to match the three perspectives.

How is slack related to Factoring and to injecting the primary structures?

The PrimaryStructures help us understand this cyclic nature of the Threesome. They array three human perspectives in a cyclic threesome, and then three God perspectives are shifts between these perspectives. Then three more human perspectives are shifts into these God perspectives. They takes us from God's outlook which may consist of three, two, one or no perspectives. As the size of the divisions unfolds (Onesome,Twosome,Threesome,Foursome) we have the nature of God collapse (wishing for Everything, Anything, Something and ultimately Nothing) back into himself, allowing for GeneralStructure and that which may live outside God.

Anti-structure is a way of thinking about Slack as the disappearance of structure, as if an acid ate through it. This is necessary as a way to conceive of the Operations on the larger divisions by which they may yield smaller ones, as when [Sevenaddthree 7+3=2].

Of the six Representations, it seems that four of them (Everything, Anything, Something, Nothing) add structure, whereas two of them (Observer, Observed) take away structure. So the latter are perhaps closely related to anti-structure, especially as they are the RepresentationsOfSlack.

I didn't think about slack until my friend Steve Bonzak talked to me about it. He is a Christian of deep faith (and went to seminary just to learn more) and is also a devotee of kung fu. So it was very interesting how he worked to find harmony between the two.

Steve said "slack is good", and I thought about it, and realized that I very much need such a concept. Moreover, I think we can say more strongly, that "good is slack". In other words, slack is what defines what is good.

Slack is important structurally because it is a self-standing opposite. We want to be able to say that there can be good without bad, truth without falsehood, etc. A helpful way to look at this is that God wants ALL of the good, and for much of the good this means that he must accept some bad, but nevertheless there is also good that does not require any bad. So then we can say that good and bad are opposites, but good does not require an opposite, so it is a self-standing opposite.

I think that the division of everything into seven perspectives, what I call the sevensome, is the structure that defines slack - it is in the seventh perspective. But I need to think more about this.

There are two ways of thinking about slack: it is either increasing or decreasing. We can't picture it static. Increasing slack is self-standing, it is "good" unbounded. Decreasing slack is not self-standing, it implies there is tightening, it is "good" bounded, and in a sense, "bad", but in the sense that where there is bad there is also good.

The goodness of slack is very much that of good will - we can always show good will, just a little bit more. This is the decreasing slack. There is also good heart - ever increasing slack.

Loosen is an interesting word because its opposite is unloosen which means just about the same, but here again I think that unloosen implies that something was tight, so there is a subtle distinction.

Gap is related to slack, but a measured gap is no longer slack. So you can't force slack.

Slack acts like an anti-structure, it eats up structure, which is important so that we could have the collapse of structure.

Also anything is everything plus slack. Good is the coherence of slack, that is, the unity of the representations of slack. God is the coherence of everything, life is the coherence of anything. So anything is everything plus slack means that Life is the fact that God is good.
